The road to success and the road to failure are almost exactly the same. – Colin R. Davis
Have you ever thought why some of the quotes and worldly wisdom of the greats of past centuries hit our hearts and we end up resonating with every word present in the sentence? I mean we live in a very different era, right? but still, a quote from Albert Einstein or Aristotle makes sense to us in modern times. I think this is because over years the mankind hasn’t changed. Technology might have advanced our living environment but at the core level, humans are still the same — An Emotional Homosapien.
Everyone experiences emotions, in fact, this is one of the reasons that our species have evolved and existed for a long in this planet. Many of the advancements in the world happened because somewhere someone was curious, dissatisfied, crazy, or angry to find the deficiency in the environment for the evolved beings and went ahead to discover, innovate or formulate things that fill the needs and desires of humankind. This is an act of using the power of consciousness that exists only with us.
So, why in spite of being so evolved and powerful than our ancestors, we are still not the healthiest and happiest species on the earth?
This happens because we use the same emotional intelligence to diminish our race. A majority of people still don’t know how to use this intelligence for good. In one bad relationship people sulk in despair for decades, one failed business, people immediately quit or change lanes, in one setback in life people start giving up, act helpless, and think that it is not working, life is not working and they take extreme steps.” Poor me, I am the victim because others betrayed me and my stars are bad to live in this world” and they start feeling sorry for themselves. The problem is feeling sorry for oneself is the lowest emotion to choose. This is an act of destroying the consciousness that is available to us.
I have observed that the birth of helplessness happens from unrealistic expectations and desires. When we set unrealistic expectations, we tend to give up. 100% guaranteed we fall into the trap of other stories, we choose the wrong paths and make the wrong decisions and choose to suffer. It is the 0% control over our life that makes us feel helpless.
Helplessness is poison to your body. It makes you emotionally weak and then your body becomes the perfect thing to be attacked by viruses and bacteria. It not only makes you emotionally weak but physically weak too. Your immune system gets attacked and you start to attract lifestyle diseases. It doesn’t stop here, suddenly you will start attracting the wrong people, situations, mishaps, and misfortunes like a domino effect. Dealing with this takes a tremendous amount of resilience which is energy-draining. This way of living is unhealthy, not only for the individual but also for the race. This is unintentionally mutating a deficient consciousness in our genome.
The only way to keep the diseases of helplessness away is by being authentic and enthusiastic. Living a life of truthfulness and enthusiasm means having faith in universal intelligence. It means communicating in the language of love and joy in spite of things not being favored. If you keep your enthusiasm high and keep doing the required work, eventually you will succeed in life. You get the chance to live a life that is powerful.
Closing Thoughts.
I see planet Earth as a perfect example of one choosing enthusiasm over helplessness.
Look at planet Earth, it was formed three billion years ago and for two and a half billion years there was nothing but bacteria. Did planet Earth give up? No. It didn’t. In fact, life on earth began 800 million years ago with evidence of first life. Afterward, the same lives evolved into smaller and larger millions of lives making a number of species exist while some million go extinct. Apparently, our life comes from this source and we are bound to experience life like planet earth.
